What's up on August 21st?

Playscripts.com has officially published three of my plays! From now on, if you wanna read or perform "A Curtain Call to Arms, or, the Final Bow," "Lives in the Wind," or "Yes, Mamet," yer gonna have to pay. Playscripts has been great - they didn't change a word of the books, they let me list the original casts in the scripts, and they even let me put a full page dedication on "Yes, Mamet." Go, Playscripts, go!

In other news, Original Works hasn't set any dates yet for "Job Strikes Back" or "The Plunge," but they oughta be producing them fairly soon. Original Works is based in Hollywood, which should be great news to all my California-based fans! Like…Greg. Uncle Greg. He lives in California. And he's my uncle. So let's call him a fan.

Speaking of "Job Strikes Back," it's a contender for the Emerging Artists Theatre's Fall Eatfest. If selected, it'll get a three-week run by a professional theatre right in NY's Theater District! I would love to see these guys debut this show - I meant one of their company at the New York 15-Minute Play Festival earlier this year, and she was a great actress and a lovely person.

Next up? Well, I'm not sure. Chapel Street Players has cast "Lives in the Wind" for their October show. If it wins their competition, it goes up against MY version of "Lives in the Wind" at States. Maybe. I'm not sure that should happen, so we'll wait and see. Otherwise, I'm waiting to hear back from about 8 different theaters, and slapping myself every day until I get all these August 31 deadline submissions done!

Oh, come and catch me at this month's Knappuccinos! I'm just doing a 15-minute set, which will hopefully include a brand-new song. If you live in New Castle County, Delaware (and hey, who doesn't?), please support the amazing Jill Knapp's efforts to instill a little kulcha in this berg!

Okay, cats and kittens! Thanks for tuning in, and be good to each other!

Word up,
Matt
